July 2009

No, these are not pregnancy pictures! I know a lot of people's pregnancy pictures look like this, but unfortunately, I look like this everyday. If you look closely, I am slightly smaller in July than I was in June, which is not what happens in pregnancy. I have been trying to lose weight for a while now. I didn't get pictures of me at my heaviest I've ever been (except pregnancy) which I hit in January. I lost 14 lbs between February and June. I finally decided to make big changes in what I eat to try to get big changes in what I look like and in my health. I have gotten smaller. Some of my pants are falling off and my measurements show some improvement (1" off my waist, 3.5" off my hips, and almost 1" off my neck). I have more energy now too. I haven't lost a ton of weight, since my decision to change my diet, only 9 lbs in a month, but I know I gained the weight slowly, so it makes sense that it will take a while to come off.
Addy wanted to pose too, so we have before and after pictures for her too. As you can see, 2 year olds don't change much in a month. :) (I can't get Addy's pictures to show up for me. I (or should I say Jordan) used html to put the pictures side by side and Addy's pictures are there when I'm editing, but don't show up when I post. I don't have time and can't pull Jordan away right now to fix it. Maybe I'll fix it later.)

I see the Addy pictures in my Google Reader -- it's just the Blogger layout that borks them.
Good job Becca! There is definitely a noticeable difference! Congratulations! I think you should be proud to have lost 9 pounds in a month!
Becca, you are always cute no matter what. Seriously. Congratulations on the weight loss, though. That is so exciting, especially after working so hard.
Way to go Becca! Nine pounds sounds like an awesome month to me! You look great...as you always have. :)
Way to go, Becca! You are awesome! Keep it up!
Congrats! You are looking great. I know it feels wonderful to have more energy with your little one. I am proud of your dedication. do you exercise too or just working on nutrition. I am sooo interested in what your nutrition plan is...can you share. - Cari
In response to Cari's comment: I have been working out as well. I go to a Group Power class at the gym 2x/wk. It is weights incorporated with aerobics, so light weights and lots of reps.
My nutrition plan is based on a book called "Eat to Live". He basically says that when you eat fat, you become fat. It is a low fat diet. He does say you can eat some fats from nuts, seeds, and avocados. He also says not to eat refined or processed foods. I have cut out meat, dairy, eggs, breads, processed foods, and sugar. So what's left? Veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds, veggies, and whole grains. It is easier than I thought. There are lots of yummy recipes out there and I've had fun learning a whole new way of eating.
Oh, I also do yoga or pilates 2x/wk. Sometimes I take Addy somewhere in the bike trailer.
